A brief look at the origins, development, and heritage of the Masonic Hall in Throckley.
Falmouth House has served the Masonic community of Throckley and the surrounding area for many decades. Prior to its current Masonic purpose it severed as a working mens club. It was later adapted to meet the needs of the Lodges and Orders that now call it home.
The hall has been carefully maintained and improved over the years, ensuring it remains a welcoming and functional space for meetings, ceremonies, and social events.
The first Lodge to meet at Falmouth House was Severus Lodge No. 7864, which established the hall as a centre of Masonic activity in the west of Newcastle.
Over time, additional Lodges, Royal Arch Chapters, and other Orders joined the building, creating a vibrant and diverse Masonic community.
In recent years, Falmouth House has benefited from modernisation projects including:
These improvements ensure that the building continues to serve members and visitors comfortably and safely.
Today, Falmouth House remains an important meeting place for Masons across Northumberland. Its history reflects the dedication of its members and the enduring values of Freemasonry.
